About ME

E X P E R I E N C E

 I am a Royal Australian Navy Engineering Officer and Mechatronics Engineer with a background in marine engineering, robotics, and Defence innovation. My career spans over a decade of operational experience as a Marine Technician, transitioning through a Navy-sponsored engineering degree into an Officer role focused on delivering and sustaining maritime capability.


 I specialise in solving complex engineering problems in high-pressure operational environments, translating real-world challenges into practical, deployable solutions. My experience ranges from hands-on propulsion systems, V8 Supercars pit-lane and maintenance leadership, to advanced prototyping, systems integration, and exposure to autonomous systems through Defence and industry collaboration.

CAREER FOCUS

I am driven to contribute to the development and integration of autonomous and robotic systems for the maritime domain.


My passion and career goal is to support our Navy's transition toward Robotic and Autonomous Systems – Artificial Intelligence (RAS-AI) by contributing to the design and delivery of capabilities that:

  • Reduces cognitive and physical load and redirects the human inputs to more important tasks. 
  • Reduce the need for people in dangerous roles.
  • Relieve our people and their families from long periods of separation. 


I am committed to supporting the Navy RAS-AI campaign and investing in a future of innovation that meets the needs of our maritime domain and people. 

ENGINEERING & NAVY BACKGROUND

I was selected for a Royal Australian Navy scholarship to complete a Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering following an extensive career as a Marine Technician. This transition allowed me to expand my contribution from technical roles into engineering design, systems thinking, and capability development.


Throughout my service, I have:


  • operated as a technical supervisor and subject matter expert in marine engineering systems 
  • supported complex maintenance, diagnostics, and operational readiness activities 
  • contributed to engineering and robotics-focused projects during Navy and industry placements 
  • developed experience across both platform sustainment and emerging capability areas

 I have an energetic personality and strongly believe in the Navy slogan:

I am known for being optimistic and persistent. I take pride in building strong working relationships and find the most job satisfaction in seeing a project through to completion.


I am committed to continuous learning and being an engineering practitioner for both our capability and our people.
